Dr. Shlee S. Song is Vice Chair of Systems Integration and Professor, in the Department of Neurology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. She is the Medical Director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at Cedars-Sinai and Torrance Memorial Medical Center and directs the Primary Stroke Center at Cedars Sinai- Marina Del Rey Hospital. Dr Song is a board-certified vascular neurologist who completed her clinical and research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health, and neurology residency training at George Washington University in Washington, DC. She completed her medical degree at American University of the Caribbean and her undergraduate degree in psychobiology at UCLA. Dr Song served on several NIH and industry trial steering committees and served as PI on multicenter stroke trials. Dr Song has been an invited speaker at the debates at the 2021 International Stroke Conference discussing the advantages of using neuroimaging makers for selecting eligible patients for emergency recanalization treatment. In 2015, Dr Song developed a telemedicine network that delivers acute stroke care and screens patients for emergency stroke clinical trials at Cedars Sinai network hospitals. She also works on stroke systems of care, co-directing the Los Angeles Stroke Society in coordination with the LA County EMS Medical Director and physician leaders at USC and UCLA. In Dr Songโ€™s teaching role in the department of neurology, she established the ACGME Vascular Neurology Fellowship Program at Cedars-Sinai in 2013, training many stroke neurologists that practice in the Southern CA region. She also serves as Special Section Editor in the AHA Stroke journal (journal impact factor: 7.914) in digital media.
