Sandra brings a unique breadth and depth of experience formed over 25 years in community health education and blood services, medical social work in hospitals and outpatient dialysis centers, health insurance, and higher education to stroke care. Sandra is a licensed social worker, educator, certified coach, and community-engaged board leader. Her lived experience as an unexpected, in-home care partner ---to her mother who succumbed to breast cancer; and, her father who suffered from Alzheimers---most magnified her voice about health equity, quality care, and dignity in the patient experience. Sandra's passion about new technology in stroke care is fueled by the possibilities of improved quality of life for stroke survivors and their unexpected care partner(s).
